The remote work trip that blends culture, tradition, and nature.

Mexico Roots is a 3-week remote work & travel experience for remote workers, creatives, and entrepreneurs who crave cultural depth, nature, and connection - without pausing their work life. Youโ€™ll live and cowork from Oaxaca City, a vibrant hub of color, flavor, and artisan tradition.

Expect: productive weekdays, Oaxacan cuisine, artisan markets, and historic streets - followed by weekend adventures to waterfalls, artisan villages, and sacred mountains - with a group that shares your curiosity and energy.

WHERE WEโ€™RE GOING

Weโ€™ll be based in Oaxaca City, a colorful and culturally rich city framed by mountains and buzzing with creative energy. Cafรฉs, local restaurants, markets, gyms, and artisan workshops are all just steps away, making the city easy to explore and full of inspiration.

During the week, youโ€™ll settle into a steady remote work rhythm: cowork from your space, take coffee breaks at nearby cafรฉs, or wander the historic streets to refresh your mind. Work feels lighter when Oaxacaโ€™s flavors, colors, and rhythms are part of your day.

Bird's eye view of a historic colonial-style church with two towers, a large plaza with a small garden, and mountains in the background.
Person wearing elaborate makeup resembling a sugar skull, with a large headdress decorated with red and white flowers and tall golden spikes, dressed in an orange strapless dress, and adorned with jewelry, at a lively event.

On the weekends, weโ€™ll venture out for memorable local experiences. One day weโ€™ll hike and camp at Hierve el Agua to catch the sunrise over stunning natural formations. Another day weโ€™ll explore artisan villages on a Textile Tour, immersing in local crafts and traditions. And weโ€™ll also join a traditional Temazcal ceremony, connecting with the wellness and cultural practices of Oaxaca.

A table with a stone molcajete containing red salsa, a large gray plate with a blue corn tortilla sprinkled with crumbled white cheese, and two bottles of soda. A napkin with a logo of a dog is also visible.
A landscape view of Hierve el Agua, a natural mineral spring with white mineral formations resembling waterfalls on a mountainside, with green hills, mountains, and a partly cloudy sky in the background.

A DAY WITH THE TRIBE โ€ฆ

A day with Nomatribe flows naturally, you choose your rhythm, and the group supports it.
We work, move, explore, and share moments that feel easy and real.

  • A soft start to the day - maybe a morning walk, a quick workout, cafรฉ run, or quiet time to ease in.

  • Work mode. Youโ€™ll have access to a designated place to work from plus cafรฉs and rooftops nearby. Everyoneโ€™s on their laptop, headphones on, building things, making calls, sending proposals - remote work stays remote work.

  • Breaks happen naturally - someone suggests fruit, bakery stop, or a sunlight stretch on the patio.

  • This is where the magic usually happens. Skillshares, local dinners, dance lessons, sunset viewpoints, or wandering a new neighborhood together.

Four women smiling and posing cheerfully outdoors with mountains and a valley in the background, dressed in casual hiking or outdoor clothing.
